Sun, 28 Mar 2010 14:24:17 -0700
By Dolly Anne Carvajal |
It was a joy to see my childhood idol, Tito Dolphy! Eric and Epy Quizon brought me to their dad’s dressing room at TV5’s grand launch. I was so touched when he told me that he always reads my column and he misses my mom all the more every time he sees me. (Joey de Leon, Vic Sotto and Direk Bert de Leon came in. It was such a delight to watch them brainstorm their number on the spot.) Full Article» |

Romance reunites John Lloyd, Bea
Fri, 26 Feb 2010 15:48:04 -0800
By Rito Asilo |
“MISS YOU LIKE CRAZY,” John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo’s big-screen reunion, doesn’t offer a lot of insights about love, but it nonetheless allows the popular couple’s thespic muscles to flex. In fact, their love team is fortunate to have three things going for it: Unforced chemistry, natural likability and romantic synergy—with maturing dramatic chops to boot. Sugar-coated musings and romantic platitudes start dripping from the get-go: When the lonely-but-attached Allan Alvarez (Cruz) meets the problematic-but-kooky-when-convenient Mia Samonte (Alonzo) during their quotidian commute on a ferry boat, sparks fly. It doesn’t take long before their dreary lives and sob stories bring them closer together. Full Article» |

This early, the local moviedom is celebrating already because of the
much-awaited major movie project starring two of the country’s

is mighty proud of this project of a lifetime. He said, "This is the
first time that Juday and Sarah will be seen in one movie. That is a

By Dolly Anne Carvajal |
MANILA, Philippines--Gabby Conception is ecstative about working
with his daughter KC Concepcion in their first movie together, “I’ll Be
There For You.” What was the hardest scene they did together? “Reactions required
for the scenes when we see each other for the first time were the
opposite of what happened in real life,” Gabby said. “Super saya kami pareho! Pero kabaligtaran ang nangyari sa movie.
Mahirap umarte nang malungkot kung masaya kayo. That was a big
challenge sa eksena.”

FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo |
In an informal project study conducted by a private research group
among 20-24-year-old males from CD households, Robin Padilla emerged as
the No. 1 idol. He was cited for his “charisma, tough-guy image and
desire to help others.” Robin’s “toughie-themed” commercials (for Trust, etc.) proved to
have the highest recall among the respondents who repeated Robin’s line
in the Revicon commercial, “Tink pasitib; huwag kang aayaw!”, as their motto. (Robin has just renewed his contract with Revicon.)

MANILA, Philippines—Days before the Big Day on Jan. 17,

nerve-wracked posts. At last she understood what brides since time immemorial inevitably learn: Getting married is serious, stressful business. She wrote: “Too excited … but also getting frustrated because of all the expenses for just one day!” Still, last Sunday, Ciara was the portrait of pure bliss when she
tied the knot with Jojo Oconer, chief operating officer of Tape and APT
Entertainment, producers of “Eat Bulaga.” Full Article» |

Hoping for the best
Thu, 21 Jan 2010 13:13:51 -0800
DIRECTLINE By Boy Abunda |
It’s extremely difficult to write about Kris Aquino without being
defensive because I’m defensive about her most of the time. Otherwise,
I choose to shut up. After all she can articulate very well her
opinions, ideas, feelings, joys, pains, failings, successes better than
most of us. Once again, Kris is in the center of controversy about an alleged
“confrontation” between her and another girl. Kris eloquently spoke
about her side of the story
that has been conveniently dragged into the political arena. In other
words, as one text message asked, “Will we vote for Noynoy given the
circumstance that happened between Kris and this girl?”
